Salida Classic

The tenth anniversary of the Salida Classic features three exciting days of road racing in beautiful Salida, Colorado. The Salida Classic hosts a time trial with some of the best views in the State, a criterium in the heart of downtown Salida, and a deceivingly tough road race in the hills outside of town. Surrounded by views of 14,000 ft. peaks and high Colorado Desert, the Salida Classic is one of the most beautiful race weekends of the summer. The Salida Classic is official cycling event for the Rocky Mountain State Games and is the Colorado State Masters Road Race Championships.

.                       Road Race: 11:00-6:00 Sunday & after results have been made official. For Masters Categories there will be an awards ceremony for the top 3 in each category. The awards schedule will be posted with results at the Registration Tent.

Located in Central Colorado at the base of the Collegiate Peaks, all three races are located in and around Downtown Salida. Please see the maps for details on registration, course locations, and parking options. A spectator shuttle will be available from the Hospital parking lot to the Road Race Registration tent on Sunday July 20. The shuttle will not be able to carry bicycles, only people. Please park at the hospital and either ride to registration or take the shuttle.

Salida is home to many things, excellent skiing, riding and rafting, beautiful art galleries, and wonderful eateries. The Arkansas River flows through downtown Salida offering world class rafting and kayaking. There are numerous excellent mountain biking trails in and around Salida, including the Monarch Crest Trail, which is frequently rated as one of the top trails in the country. Salida was recently named a Creative District by Colorado Creative Industries, one of only seven communities designated as such. The Salida Creative District was named such because of the beautiful and vibrant art galleries where you can watch artists hone their craft and purchase original works. There are also many wonderful eateries, breweries, and distilleries in Salida; as a variety of beautiful lodging options.
